Dr. Chris L. Wertin

Dr. Chris graduated Cum Laude (with Honors) from Cleveland Chiropractic College of Kansas City, Mo. In 1985.

He began clinical research for the Activator Chiropractic Methods technic on 1983 and has won several awards and recognitions for his work. He continues this work to this day and has been referenced in the College textbook used to instruct students on this technic. As he has continued his research, he has developed a very special method of Chiropractic care. Using the activator instrument – which is a small hand held device used to correct body problems – Dr. Chris has discovered how to find the root cause of many body issues and devised a relatively quick method of sorting it out so that a body can regain normal function. He has taught these procedures to all the doctor’s in his clinics

Dr. Chris opened the doors to Advanced Chiropractic services in 1989 and has expanded the business to 3 clinics and 6 Doctors of Chiropractic.

He has received special recognition for his work with athletes at the University of Kansas and was awarded the Big 12 Championship Ring and the National Championship Ring for his help with the Track and Field Teams.

Dr. Chris has had patients travel from all across this Planet for his special care and unique service.

For hobbies, he loves the fish and hunt and he enjoys working in the yard and being outside. But, his greatest enjoyment comes from helping others lead a better, healthier, happier life.

Dr. Mary Huss

I am Dr. Mary Huss. I graduated in 1982 from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City. I started practice in 1983 in St. Joseph, Missouri using the Activator Methods adjusting technique. In 2007, I moved to Lawrence to practice with my brother, Dr. Chris Wertin, owner and lead Doctor of Advanced Chiropractic Services and I really love it here.

When I was a young, my family found chiropractic care in our small Kansas town. Each of us was helped so much that I decided at a young age that I wanted to be a Chiropractor and help others also. That is still my purpose today, to help as many people as possible achieve good health, feel better and be happy. I am so glad I have been able to do that for so many years. I love what I do and look forward to it every day.

When I’m not at the office, I enjoy a lot of other activities and interests including seeing my family and friends, being outdoors and taking care of my plants and flowers. I like living in Lawrence, it’s a good town with friendly people and I am happy here!

Dr. Jessica Speidel

Hello! My name is Dr. Jessica Speidel and I am the Doctor in our Bonner Springs office. I grew up just down highway 7 in Shawnee, Kansas. After attending high school at Shawnee Mission Northwest I traveled to Kansas University in Lawrence to complete my undergraduate degree in Communications and Business. While in Lawrence I was introduced to Chiropractic through my husband (Dr. Eric Wertin of the Holton office), and began to go to Advanced Chiropractic Services. After all that the doctors there did for me, I knew immediately that this was my calling, so I packed my bags and drove to St. Louis Missouri where I attended Logan College of Chiropractic.

While there I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology along with my Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. During my time at Logan College, I did extensive training in the treating of scoliosis, sports related injuries and nutrition and have since then completed a comprehensive course in rehabilitation procedures.

I am exceedingly happy to say that I have returned home so that I may share all that I have learned, and will continue to learn, with those around me so that they can live a happier and healthier life.
